Treasurer’s report (Esther Strickland)

Overview

I took over as treasurer from Malcolm McSwan at the start of 2022.  The handover of the Royal Bank of Scotland bank account from Malcolm to I has been very painful.  In addition, the RBS had frozen the bank account as they wanted a statement of beneficial interests from every community company member.  I eventually managed to get the restrictions on the account lifted, after several attempts.  Unfortunately, due to delays in this process (as a result of very poor customer service from RBS) a number of cheques were refused, which incurred bank charges.

I now have access to digital banking but it only allows me to see bank statements.  I cannot carry out any bank transactions online.

I would like to set up a new bank account to make it easier to pay people – but this is on hold for now due to the time it would take me to set up.

2021/22 Accounts

The accounts for the financial year ending 30 June 2022 have been produced for review by the directors.

The CIC made a profit of £220 over the year.  The members funds amounted to £4,701 at the end of the financial year.

2022/23 to date

Income of £110 has been received from Oilfast.

The Abernyte Festival that was held in September 2022 raised £1,460.

I have not seen any expenses in respect of the hire of the school – does someone need to be reimbursed for this?

Expenses of £695 have been incurred to date:

  • £302 for insurance
  • £129 for the community notice board
  • £60 for Smart Sheet software
  • £48 for bank charges
  • £27 for the Glebe rent.
