Inspired by Ron Neville, thirty people from Abernyte gathered recently in the school to receive emergency Heartstart training from the NHS Heartstart Team and St Johns Ambulance volunteers.  Everyone had the opportunity to practice emergency resuscitation and use the new Public Access Defibrillator which is being installed outside the Schoolhouse and will soon be operational.

Heartstart Discovery Co-ordinator Helen Brady said "It is fantastic to see so many people interested in attending Heartstart training. Knowing how to help save someone's life is a skill that is easy to learn. It only takes two hours and can be learned by anyone, even children as young as 10-years-old.
