Seen or heard on the Glebe today, Monday May 17th two new species for the Glebe, Treecreeper working one of the few Ash on the Glebe and at least one Blackcap singing. Other regular birds, Willow Warbler, Blackbird, Wren, Blue tit and Great tit.
On my round of the Glebe nest boxes yesterday (May 31st) I was please to find a spotted flycatcher nest. So far the nest is finished, but has no eggs. I will be keeping an eye on it and will post updates here.
It looks as if the flycatcher has changed its mind. The nest lining has been carefully removed, leaving the moss base is in perfect shape, so it is unlikely that the nest was raided. If I find where they have moved to, I will post the news.
