I am very pleased to report that at the cost of nearly a cwt of peanuts we have two resident red squirrels now at Infield.
The pair are busy burying every peanut they can access all over the garden including most of the flower pots and planters left out over the winter! We are in deep trouble if peanuts manage to germinate in the spring!
They seem to head into the Lime trees at the farmhouse at the end of the day.
We are still getting an irregular red squirrel visitor in the garden at Infield during this spring. It also turns up at the Barton's garden regularly too.
Tim and Winnie Hardie at East Newton videoed a pair of reds doing a circumnavigation of the garden at high speed in what looked a territory squabble.
