A report of a young hedgehog seen active recently

I had not seen a single hedgehog this year, but I have seen two locally in the past two days. Unfortunately, the one I saw today was a road casualty about 50 m East of Ann Davies' house. On Monday night (9th November 2015) we were returning from Longforgan about 9.15 pm and leaving the A90 on the slip road to the Inchture flyover. A young hedgehog crossed in front of us and disappeared into the. Scrub between the slip road and A90. It looked a bit thin and not fed up enough for the winter. I guess these warm nights are bringing them out to forage. At least it survived bonfire night.

Regret to say that I noticed a newly squashed hedgehog on the High Carse road by the cottages at Craigdallie at 15.00 today. (25/10/2016) It was the only hedgehog I have seen this year.

Jane and Trefor were even more dismayed to see yet another squashed hedgehog in almost the same place last night, (29/10/2016). It had obviously been hit by a vehicle about 100 yds east of Craigdallie.
