Yet more summer migrants are here. This afternoon Thursday 26th, I saw my first Willow Warbler. I have been hearing little snippets of song, for the last few days, but today a full song and a little later in the day a sighting.
Summer must just be around the corner, but from the temperature the last few days you may just wonder!
A walk along to Kinnaird and back today (Monday May 21st) produced an interesting list of birds. Chiffchaffs calling in numerous places, Willow warbler several, at least two pairs of Whitethroat, a pair of Bullfinch, and last but not least a Cuckoo calling from a high area of woodland. That makes a good walk for me!
Another Cuckoo record, same place as last time, but even better this time we actually saw the Cuckoo. Friday June 8th while driving along, spotted two birds sitting on fence posts, the first was a Buzzard, the second was the Cuckoo. As we drove past it took off and flew along side us for a short distance. Cuckoo sightings don’t come much better!
