 We found some frogs and frog spawn in the pond today (Saturday)

I think it is a bit later this year.

This year we found our first frogs and spawn on March 19th in the garden. The data of finding spawn will depend on the location of the pond, one year a pond in Kinnaird was almost two week earlier than Abernyte, and ponds at higher elevation are later. Dates for previous years in Abernyte are; 2008 March 10th and 2009 March 12th.

Today is good Friday in more ways than it just being Easter, I have just seen my first two butterflies of the year. Basking in the sun, I found both a Peacock and a Small Tortoiseshell up on the Glebe.

May be not spring but summer! We had three swallows feeding and displaying in the garden today (22nd April). So Gordon time for a spring clean for Swallow cam? As if that was not enough we also had our first willow warbler singing in the garden. My ears have been working overtime for the past couple of weeks just waiting for the first warbler.
