Last week we were lucky enough to get a close up view of a pair of Bullfinches flitting thro' verges on the kirk road just below the car park.

This morning Irene saw a male just outside our dining-room window. This is our second first sighting in the garden this year. This is probably due to the extreme conditions.

It is a pity that we don't see more of them.

Also saw a bullfinch here at Guardswell corner about a week ago. It was in a rose bush that has gone a bit wild and has a few hawes left on it.

Yesterday (Mon 2nd Jan) we watached a male bullfinch feeding on hypericum seed pods in the garden for a considerable time. He was briefly joined by a female who only stayed a short time.

This is the second sighting that we have had in a week.
