Fieldfares about was created by Gordon
A flock of fieldfares, possibly mixed with redwings was around in the garden this w/e 10th & 11th of November. Also, always nice to see, were some Goldcrests with their little yellow crests and high-pitched "seet seet" call. Usually heard before seen! No doubt the fieldfares have been around for a while but I have hardly been at home in daylight!

The Fieldfares have returned, I have been hearing them around for a few days now and had a distant sighting of a small flock of about 6 on Wednesday Oct 20th. More should be coming so keep your eyes and ears open.

I have just seen and heard a flock of about 25 Fieldfares fly over head (Sunday Sep 18th.) This is early compared to other years, see dates below.

I saw a large flock of Fieldfares about 25 - 50 in total over the village on Saturday 13th. In the last few days, I have had distant view of birds that may have been Fieldfares, but this was a definite sighting.

Yesterday Cathy was watching our first Brambling in the garden, Sunday Nov 4th. Brambling is a finch a little like a Chaffinch, but with rusty-buff to orange colours and it also has a white rump.
