Congratulations to Stephen Havranek from Knapp, who recently returned home from South Africa as the Barebow World Field Archery Champion. (Shooting barebow is shooting without any added telescopic sights. Barebow shooters rely only on their own eyes, concentration and skills).
The competition was held in very hot (over 40 degrees) and windy conditions over five days in four different locations at a game reserve near Potchefstroom in the North West Province but Stephen overcame the conditions to win by a sizeable margin.
Stephen, who took up the sport in 2012, already holds a Scottish and a European title.
