Wildlife

Without a doubt there is considerable interest in the local environment we are privileged to live in. It will be interesting and useful to record key natural events that mark plant, animal and weather events during the seasons.

We invite you to share in this community project by letting us know when certain nature events first happen near you as listed below. As we build up a picture of our changing seasons we will show the results on this page.

Photos or drawings taken locally will be welcomed and may be used on the website to help identify the items we are monitoring. However, please, do not limit your images and records to our current list, as over time, we are keen to record all the natural things that happen or live locally. We define our local area as roughly the land between the dual carriageway north to King's Seat hill - Lochton - Littleton and from the Knapp, west to Kinnaird. So if you live in this area, your sightings will be most welcome.
