The pupils at Abernyte Primary School have been doing a survey and noting down the signs of spring in their school playground and surrounding area. Great observations! They made four groups:

Louise and the 3 C's (Louise, Calum,Carlo, Cara)
The Eco Artists (Rachael, Nicholas, Megan, Oscar)
Wizzy Willows (Debbie, Daniel, Lewis,Archie)
Four Leaf Clovers (Cody, Anna, Faith, Joshua)

Tulips – yellow & peach

Daffodils – 14cms tall

Apple trees have buds

Variegated privet has new growth (lighter colour)

Snowdrops are out

 

 

Heard lots of birds – Blue tits, chaffinches, robin, sparrows

Grass is growing

Greener Grass

Daffodils starting to grow

Silver Birch tree has new leaves

Cherry Tree is getting blossom

Plants are growing – crocuses & pansies – purple, white, yellow

Narcissi are in bud

Raspberry bushes have buds on them

Strawberry plants are starting to grow again

 

Fields have been ploughed

There has been dung spread on the fields

We can see and hear lots of seagulls

We can hear tractors

The grass is growing and is not so hard to walk on

Roses have buds on them

There are Rose hips

Daffodils – 20cms tall

Not so many dead leaves on the ground

The willow at the Dome has buds on it

Grass is starting to grow

There are daisies in the grass

Our fruit trees have buds on them

We can hear children out in the sun playing

Plants are growing – crocuses & pansies – purple, white, yellow

Raspberry bushes have buds on them

The climbing plant on Carlo's fence looks dead but has green bits starting to grow again.

There are sheep in the field beside our football pitch

The fields are green and not brown

We can see seagulls

We can see and hear tractors

The climbing plants round the green fence are growing and have buds on them – honey suckle, clematis & climbing roses

New growth on plants are a lighter colour

Blue Cillon plant is growing well

Groups of snowdrops are growing

Cherry trees have blossom on them

Grass is softer to walk on and is greener

Daffodils are growing along the fence side – about 10 cms

We can hear more birds – grows, pigeons

 

Crocuses are growing – some are in bud but some purple ones have full flowers

The flowers in the pots from last year are growing – primroses & snowdrops

Raspberry bushes have buds on them

The fields are a different colour – some brown because they have been ploughed, some have crops starting to grow and look greener

The sky is really nice and blue and has fluffy clouds in it

There are cows in the field behind our playing field

We can see more birds – chaffinches, house sparrows, blackbirds

Honeysuckle is growing

Lonicera plant (small yellow ground cover plant) is growing

There are lots of new leaves on the trees

Not so many dead leaves on the ground

The grass is greener and not so hard with frost

We can hear birds – seagulls, crows, pigeons

Buzzards are floating high up in the blue sky

There are lots of Crocuses growing

Local cat called Princess is lying in the sun

Primroses from last year are growing in out tubs

The Raspberry bushes are growing

Some of the fields are ploughed

We can hear a tractor

One of the fields has crops planted and it looks greener
